Beyond Labels: Why Local Businesses and Brands Choose Laser Engraving
When you're sourcing custom labels or packaging, you’re often stopped in your tracks by a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ). For a small business just trying to add a personal touch, or a luxury brand that wants to avoid the "mass-produced" look, these barriers can be frustrating. Laser engraving offers a different path: a way to achieve premium, permanent branding without the burden of warehouse-filling minimums.
At Laser Engraving Service, we partner with a diverse portfolio of local businesses and luxury brands across London and the UK. Below, we’ve showcased how our partners in personalisation have traded temporary adhesives and surface inks for the permanent, tactile flexibility of laser engraving.
Holborn Dining Room | Engraving for Culinary Tools

If you’re on the hunt for the absolute best pie in London, the Holborn Pie Room is the place to be. We were delighted to help them with their Christmas hampers this year, engraving their iconic logo onto their wooden 'pie dollies.' It was the perfect way to turn a classic kitchen tool into a beautiful, branded keepsake. This is a fantastic example of where
The Laser Solution:
Food-Safe Hygiene: In a culinary setting, hygiene is the top priority. Unlike surface inks or decals that can chip into food, our wood engraving service burns the design directly into the grain. This chemical-free process creates a permanent mark that is 100% food-safe and durable enough to withstand repeated washing.
Rustic "Etched-In" Finish: A printed logo can feel superficial on natural wood. Instead, our laser sears the design deep into the organic grain, creating a warm, textured finish
Rotary Engraving: A laser beam has a fixed focal point. Engraving a curved surface on a flat plane would have distorted and blurred the edges of the logo. We utilised our rotary attachment to rotate the dolly in synchronisation with the laser head, creating a constant focal distance, ensuring the logo wrapped seamlessly around the curve with zero distortion.
Terrariums Shoreditch | Sustainable Cork Engraving for Eco-Retail

Tucked away in the creative heart of Shoreditch, Terrariums London is a botanical studio dedicated to the art of the self-contained ecosystem. Since 2014, they have helped urbanites reconnect with nature through both in-person and online workshops, DIY kits, and bespoke glass vessels designed to bring thriving, low-maintenance greenery into modern homes and workspaces.
To help prepare for one of their corporate terrarium workshops, they asked us to engrave their client's branding on the cork lids, giving each attendee a personalised keepsake to take home.
The Laser Solution:
Non-Invasive Precision: Because cork is naturally compressible, traditional stamping can distort its shape. Our cork engraving process is entirely contactless, allowing us to etch the logo whilst keeping the stopper’s structural integrity 100% intact.
A Plastic-Free Identity: For a brand rooted in nature, a plastic sticker feels like a compromise. Creating a high-contrast and easy-to-read product branding, without the need for inks or dyes. Rather than engraving into the material at depth, we tuned the laser frequency to "carbonise" the top layer.

Edmiston & Great Durnford | Luxury Glass Etching

Artisan candle? Check. Chemical-free? Check? Recyclable packaging? Check. Sticky labels? Think again.
When Durnford Estate partnered with Edmiston, global leaders in the superyacht industry, to produce an exclusive collection of home fragrances, they required a branding method as refined as the scents themselves. By calibrating our laser parameters, we achieved a crisp frosted finish that met the brand's exacting standards. This proof of concept served as the blueprint for a limited-edition production run, in which we engraved their logos directly into the surface of their sustainable glass candle jars and diffuser vessels.
The Laser Solution:
Rotary Precision: Hand-blown glass is inherently unique, meaning no two vessels are identical. To preserve the fine detail of the logos, we measured the diameter of every single vessel individually. By calibrating the laser to a pin-sharp focal point for each piece, we eliminated any potential "wave-edge" distortion.
Thermal Management: We pre-treated every glass surface to facilitate thermal dissipation. Without this critical step, the concentrated heat of the laser beam would have caused micro-flaking rather than a clean frosted finish. If you thought it was just a matter of "chucking it in and pressing go"—think again. Engraving glassware is as much about thermodynamics as it is about design.

Baudoin & Lange | Bespoke Monogramming for Heritage Woodwork

Baudoin & Lange are the definitive name in handcrafted shoes with unmatched comfort. For their exclusive Christmas promotion, they sought to transform a functional necessity—their aromatic cedar shoe trees—into a bespoke luxury asset. They commissioned us to provide a high-volume, individualised engraving service that matched the prestige of their footwear.
The Laser Solution:
Engraving on the curve: The ergonomic curve of a shoe tree is a unique challenge. We propped every piece by hand to keep the engraving surface within a "pin-sharp" range. This prevented the "blurred" discolouration that occurs when a laser drifts off-axis, resulting in a crisp, high-contrast monogram.
The 24-Hour Heartbeat: In the heat of the holiday season, timing is everything. Located in the heart of London, we acted as a local extension of the B&L team. Batches were couriered to us daily, and we maintained a strict 24-hour turnaround.
Why Settle for Temporary?
In 2026, branding is moving away from the superficial. Choosing laser engraving over traditional labelling isn't just an aesthetic choice; it’s a strategic one:
Sustainability: Eliminate single-use plastics and chemical inks.
Agility: Pivot between bespoke monograms and limited-edition runs without the cost of physical dies or plates.
Precision: Scale your branding across irregular, hand-crafted, or "temperamental" materials with surgical precision.
Precision branding is never as simple as ‘pressing go.’ From the heart of Shoreditch to the decks of a superyacht, we provide the technical expertise from our engraving shop in Hatton Garden to ensure your brand's first impression is a permanent one.

FAQs: Laser Engraving for Packaging, Products & Branding
Is laser engraving food-safe for kitchenware?
Yes. Unlike stickers or screen prints that will peel, flake, or leach chemicals over time, laser engraving is a physical transformation of the material. By engraving your design directly into the organic material, we create a permanent, chemical-free mark that is 100% food-safe and durable enough for commercial kitchen use.
Can you engrave on curved or irregular surfaces?
Yes. Using propping techniques and our rotary attachments, we synchronise the object's rotation with the laser head. This maintains a pin-sharp focal point on curved glass, cylindrical diffusers, or ergonomic items like shoe trees, ensuring zero "wave-edge" distortion.
Is laser engraving suitable for small batch or bespoke branding projects?
Yes. Laser engraving requires no physical dies, plates, or tooling, making it perfect for personalised items, limited‑edition runs, and one‑off pieces. Small businesses and luxury brands benefit from fast turnaround and flexible order quantities, all without the cost penalties of traditional printing.
Why do businesses choose laser engraving over traditional labels?
Businesses choose laser engraving because it creates a permanent, high‑precision mark without the need for inks, adhesives, or Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs). It’s ideal for brands seeking premium, sustainable, and durable product branding that won’t peel, fade, or wear over time.
