Whether you own a cherished family ring or have acquired an antique ring that requires resizing, or perhaps your finger size has changed over the years, our jewellers with over 50 years of experience are here to extend or reduce the size of your ring to fit your finger comfortably and securely—without compromising its integrity or overall design.
Our Ring Resizing Process
Step 1
Before We Begin
During your initial consultation, we'll determine the best course of action by taking into consideration the following:
The type of metal (some metals can't be resized, like titanium or tungsten)
The presence of stones or engravings
The ring’s design and structure
How many sizes it needs to go up or down
Step 2
How We Resize Your Ring with Care
If your ring needs to be made smaller:
A small section of the band is cut out.
The two ends are carefully rejoined.
The ring is then soldered, reshaped into a perfect circle, and reinforced as needed.
If your ring needs to be made larger:
If it's a minor adjustment (typically up to half a size), the band can sometimes be stretched slightly to accommodate the change.
For larger size increases, our jewellers will cut the ring, insert a matching piece of metal, and then solder it securely in place.
Step 3
The Refinishing Process
After resizing, the ring is meticulously polished and cleaned.
If there are any stones, our jewellers will check that they’re secure and correctly aligned.
Engravings or surface textures may be reapplied if needed.
Step 4
Quality Check & Return
The ring is inspected for any signs of weakness or damage. Once approved, we’ll contact you to arrange collection or delivery.

The cost of resizing a ring depends on several factors, such as the complexity of the design, the type of metal, and whether it needs to be sized up or down.
As a guide, ring resizing typically ranges from £60 to £200.

Generally, it is less expensive to resize a ring down than it is to resize it up. When a ring is made smaller, we often remove a piece of the band before reshaping and soldering the ends back together. However, when a ring is made larger, additional material must be added to the band, which can increase the cost depending on the type of metal used.

Because of the strength and low malleability of certain metals, we’re unable to resize rings made from titanium, tungsten, or stainless steel.

Pack items securely to protect against scratches, dents, or damage.
We recommend sending all parcels via a tracked and insured postal or courier service for added peace of mind.
Include your name, contact details, and return postage address and order reference (if applicable).
Include your resizing details and any helpful notes.

Our ring resizing service typically takes 2–5 working days, but depending on our current workload and the simplicity of the design, we may be able to complete it sooner.
